Alain Méthot

Alain Méthot was an Ottawa police sergeant of the morality squad who was charged with assault causing bodily harm in 1976 for his part in the “Ottawa Sex Scandal.” The charges were later dropped. When Gays of Ottawa announced the winners of their 1976 Oscar Wilde Awards for Homophobe-of-the-Year award in January 1977, Méthot ‘won’ in a tie with his colleague Robert Gervais for the local level.
