Anthony Maloney

As a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ontario, Anthony Maloney oversaw the trials of the murder of Emanuel Jaques in January 1978. He is recorded as saying to the accused: “There is one feature in your case that disturbs me more than a little. It is your acknowledged tendency to seek out ever younger homosexual partners. I wonder how common that is among homosexuals. There are those who seek protections for homosexuals in the Human Rights Code. You make me wonder if they are not misguided.”
