She was an Alderman for Vancouver’s City Council, as well as a television evangelist and pro-life supporter. In March 1980 she led opposition against a grant of $9,920 for the Vancouver Status of Women, citing the organization’s support of abortion and claiming it was a front for placing gay activists in schools. The grant was turned down.
