Douglas Sanders was a lawyer and the president of the Association for Social Knowledge (ASK). He is also the author of many articles dealing with gay and lesbian rights. In 1966, a proposal by Sanders and Sidney Simons to relax laws concerning homosexual acts between consenting adults was defeated at the annual convention of the British Columbia branch of the Canadian Bar Association.
