Ed Broadbent

Ed Broadbent was leader of the federal New Democratic Party and supported the inclusion of sexual orientation in the Canadian Human Rights Act. He offered a contradicting take on the issue for an article in Maclean’s in 1976 when he said that the NDP needed to stop supporting fad issues “whether it’s the homosexual minority or whatever.”
