Harold Desmarais

Harold Desmarais was a gay rights activist in Ontario, NDP delegate for the Windsor-Sandwich riding, and chairperson of Windsor Gay Unity. In 1976 he introduced a motion at the biennial Ontario NDP Convention in Kingston to add sexual orientation to the Human Rights Code, and it was approved. Desmarais was the executive secretary of Coalition for Gay Rights in Ontario in the 80s.
