Harry Kopyto was a lawyer who represented John Damien (who was fired from his job in 1975 for being gay). He also represented Gay Alliance Toward Equality (GATE) Vancouver in 1977, presenting the case concerning the Vancouver Sun’s refusal to print an add for GATE’s newspaper, Gay Tide.
