Hetty Clews was a British writer, singer, actress, and educator, receiving a PhD in English from the University of Saskatechewan. On Jan. 23 1974 she participated in an event sponsored by the University of Saskatchewan Students’ Debating Society, entitled “Gay Is Good for God and Man.” Clews argued against this resolution in the debate alongside Reverend Michael Horban.
