Huey P. Newton

Huey P. Newton was an African-American activist known for co-founding the Black Panther Party with Bobby Seale in 1966. After facing criminal charges, he fled to Cuba in 1974, returning in 1977. He earned his PhD in social philosophy in 1980 from the University of California Santa Cruz.
