He organized a Calgary branch of the Metropolitan Community Church in September 1977. On 11 November 1979, he was denounced by a Minneapolis-based evangelist who also claimed homosexuals were drug addicts, alcoholics, and murderers. He was in Allan King’s documentary Dying at Grace (2003).
