Michel Girouard

Michel Girouard was a Québécois singer and journalist. In 1972 he married Réjean Tremblay in a downtown Montreal discotheque. The couple signed business partnership and personal union contracts under Reverend Boniface Grosveld, and it was the first widely-publicized gay marriage ceremony in Canada. His autobiography “Je vis mon homosexualité” was published in 1980.
