Peter Lougheed

Peter Lougheed was an Alberta lawyer and politician who led the Progressive Conservative Party in Alberta for many years. In the 70s his government supressed recommendations from gay organizations to amend the Alberta Individual Rights Protection Act to protect individuals on the basis of sexual preference.
