Adrienne Rosen (formerly Adrienne Potts) was a member of the Brunswick Four. In 1974 the group formed after Potts and three other women (Pat Murphy, Heather Beyer, and Sue Wells) refused to leave the Brunswick House Tavern in Toronto after singing “I Enjoy Being a Dyke” to the tune of “I Enjoy Being a Girl” at the bar’s open mic night. They were arrested and charged with creating a disturbance and obstructing the police. Potts was convicted of causing a disturbance and sentenced to three months probation. In 1975 she stormed onto the stage at the Miss Canada Pageant to protest the sexism of the event.
