Bob Harris

Bob Harris was a gay activist in Calgary. On Aug. 7, 1981, he and two fellow activists from Gay Information and Resources Calgary, Andrew Wallace and Henry Berg, were investigating complaints about police harassment in Calgary’s Central Park when they were stopped by police and detained for not cooperating. Berg spent the night in jail. Harris filed a complaint against Constable Boyle with the Calgary Police Commission, which later ruled that Boyle had displayed “unnecessary use of authority.”
