Bruce Somers was a Vancouver interior decorator and an active member of the gay community. He was interviewed about his experiences by Gary Kinsman in 1986. He was the first President of ASK, Canada’s first ever homophile society, but he resigned when moving from Vancouver to Ottawa. Somers also helped found the Canadian Council on Religion and the Homosexual in 1965.
