Ron Gabe was part of a trio who formed the artistic collective ‘General Idea’ in 1968, adopting the name Felix Partz. The group used satire and gay humour in their art, and the collective gained an international following in the 70s and 80s. Their later artwork focused on the AIDS crisis, and Gabe died of AIDS related complications in 1994.
