He was a gay activist active in Calgary. On 7 August 1981, he and two fellow activists from Gay Information and Resources Calgary, Bob Harris (#BHAR) and Henry Berg (#HBER), were investigating complaints about police harassment in Calgary’s Central Park when they were stopped by police and detained for not cooperating. Berg spent the night in jail.
