Barbara Love was a feminist activist, author, and journalist. She edited and published “Foremost Women in Communications” and was a co-author of Sappho Was a Right-on Woman, the first nonfiction book to promote a positive view of lesbianism. She was an early supporter of the organization Parents of Gays (which later became PFLAG), as well as founder of Identity House, a counselling centre for gay and bisexual people, and of the National Task Force on Sexuality and Lesbianism within the National Organization for Women.
