She was a Toronto lawyer who was assaulted and murdered on 11 April 1980, sparking a “Take Back the Night” march by women who were protesting the killing, as well as violence against women. Both CHUM-FM and City Pulse news on CITY-TV speculated that she had been killed in a fit of “lesbian rage,” though there was no evidence for this and the theory was soon dropped. On 2 May 1984, Fernand Arthur Robinson (#FAR) was found guilty of first degree murder in the case. He had been only fifteen years old at the time of the murder.
