He was the manager of the Richmond Street Health Emporium (#RSHE), a gay bathhouse. After the 5 February 1981 bathhouse raids, several found-ins and keepers were charged from the Emporium. Rhodes pleaded guilty to keeping a common bawdy house on 11 January 1982, and was sentenced on 4 March 1982.
