Carlton McEachern was a sociologist associated with the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry. He co-authored an important report entitled “Male Homosexuality in Toronto: A Sociological and Social Problems Overview and Perspective,” which, unusually for the time, did not focus on homsexuality as a deviant culture but rather legitimized it as a true minority group.
