Charles Templeton began his career in journalism as a sports cartoonist. In 1945, he started the Youth For Christ movement as an evangelist in Canada, Europe, and Japan but later become an agnostic. He was among many Canadian journalists who publicly criticized the Toronto police for the Dec. 30, 1977 raid of The Body Politic’s office.
