He was owner of Montréal’s Le Priape Sexshop. Police raided the shop on 17 October 1979, seized sadomasochistic materials, and charged LeBlanc with distribution of obscene materials. On 31 October he challenged Canada Customs in the Quebec Superior Court, claiming that they upheld a double standard when they detained shipments of gay magazines (including travel guides) but routinely allowed the shipment of magazines that included pictures of naked women.
