Dick Beddoes

Dick Beddoes was a Canadian sports journalist and wrote sports books such as ‘Greatest Sports Stories.’ In April 1980 letters between Beddoes and Toronto police Commissioner Winfield McKay were leaked. In the letters McKay attacked gay, feminist, and black activists. In September of that year he resigned from the Globe and Mail after admitting he had plagiarized a column on gay rights from a New York Times columnist.
