Doug Hellquist

Doug Hellquist, also known as Gens, was an influential activist in the liberation movement in Western Canada and a founder of several important organizations. He helped found the Saskatoon division of the Gay Alliance Towards Equality, the Gay and Lesbian Health Services of Saskatoon, and the Canadian Rainbow Health Coalition. On Jan. 28 1980 his home was raided by two RCMP officers, who seized pornographic films and magazines. The material was linked to the San Francisco-based porn company All-American Studios, which had been charged with criminal offenses in the United States.
