François Couture was murdered in his apartment in 1977 at the age of 51. Two months after the murder, twenty-year-old Roger Chamberland was found criminally responsible for the death at a coroner’s inquiry. Chamberland claimed that he had been threatened and sexually assaulted before striking Couture with a hammer.
