Gaston Nadeau

He and two other men were fired from their job at Saint John’s Captain’s Quarters (also known as the Pier One Restaurant) on 11 February 1980 because management feared that the restaurant would become notorious because of its gay staff. He was rehired about a year later after a complaint was filed with the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission, and received an apology.
