Gwen Hauser

Gwen Hauser was a poet who published books such as Hands Get Lonely Sometimes (1977) with Vancouver’s blewointmentpress and The Ordinary Invisible Woman (1978) with Fiddlehead Books. While living in Vancouver, she was part of an informal poetry group in the nascent women’s studies initiative at UBC, publishing poetry in chapbooks with feminist themes. After moving to Toronto in the 1970s she became active in the NDP and the anti-poverty movement. She was a longtime member of the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto.
