Heather Beyer

Heather Beyer was a member of the Brunswick Four. In 1974 the group formed after Beyer and three other women were ejected from Toronto’s Brunswick House Tavern. They were arrested and charged with creating a disturbance and obstructing the police, though Beyer was acquitted of the charge of causing a disturbance. Beyer was also part of a group of women who tried to open Clementyne’s, a cafĂ© for women, in Toronto in 1974; however, zoning by-laws prevented it from opening.
