John Mooney was a horse breeder and horse racing manager. He was the president of the Ontario Jockey Club, the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society, the Laurel Park Racecourse, and Arlington Park. He was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of fame in 1989.
