John Van Burek was the founder of Théâtre français de Toronto (1971) and was a director there for nearly twenty years. He is a director and the Founding Artistic Director of Pleiades Theatre. He translated many of Michel Tremblay’s plays (some of which were turned into books). An interview with Van Burek was featured in the Tremblay’s Casebook published in the Canadian Theatre Review.
