Robert MacKenzie

Windsor police unlawfully smashed the rear window of MacKenzie’s car after he left a gay bar, the Ritz Hotel Tavern. Though he was threatened with more charges, MacKenzie brought the matter to the media and the Windsor chief of police. On 12 June 1981 he was arrested along with Daniel Racine (#DRAC) and charged with eighteen offenses, including living off the avails of prostitution, procuring a person to commit gross indecency, and procuring a person to commit buggery. Both men claimed that the police had entrapped them.
