Stephen Lewis was leader of the Ontario NDP during the 70s and a Canadian ambassador to the United Nations. He supported amending the Ontario Human Rights Code to include protection based on sexual orientation, and endorsed a statement questionning police actions in the February 1981 bathhouse raids.
